UK

EA1 is a 714 MW development located 43 KM off the UK’s Suffolk coast. The project will comprise 102 Siemens Gamesa 7 MW wind turbines, which when fully operational, will produce enough green electricity to power the equivalent of over 600,000 homes annually.

Project Challenges

1. Delivery product with huge weight of each workpiece. 2. Tight construction schedule. 3. Strict material grade with low temperature impact requirements. 4. Customers focus on the quality with strict requirement, 3 professional engineers were employed for the on-site supervision. 5. Due to large demand of our product according to the domestic wind power projects in 2017, the load rate of the processing center is quite high under the current conditions of production equipment.

Our Solutions

1. This product is the product with the largest volume that has been processed at present, so a relevant process system should be established according to this feature. 2. The production schedule was reduced to less than 3 months through the effective management of this project. 3. Conducted a lot of research on the technical conditions of raw materials, adjusted the performance by adding relevant elements, and carried out experiments on the material performance in the laboratory. 4. CNOOD had arranged on-site personnel and inspectors to conduct the whole process of testing and project management tracking since the beginning of the project. 5. Quickly find out the risk for affecting the delaying during the implementation phase, adjust the relationship between various production departments, improve and solve the problem of capacity limitation of the production line.

Conclusion

All 60 products are large-size flanges with a diameter of 6 meters, the delivery period is very tight. The project located in low temperature area, to cope with the extreme weather climate may arise in the coming decades, SPR requires all products to have a low temperature impact energy of -60℃ (average 50J), which is the first time such strict low temperature impact requirements have been made in China.
